1. Coordinate with Your Group
Bigger festivals like EDC and Beyond Wonderland have multiple stages with a variety of artists playing at different times. We recommend going to the event website and organizing times and locations of what stages you'll be attending.
It's also important to note that cellular reception is non existent at these bigger shows so it's essential to prepare a meet up point at a specific location and time. This will keep your group together when meeting for a set and when it's time to leave the grounds.
2. Dress Accordingly
You're going to be dancing for hours so you want be comfortable. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes, breathable clothes that are light weight and earplugs to evenly reduce the music to a safe level. From that point on feel free to get creative with your outfit. Many people will add neon lights, glitter and lots of color. Have fun with it.
3. Always Stay Hydrated
When you're dancing all day and night you're going to be sweating a lot. Many first timers don't realize how dehydrated they can become so it's important to hydrate frequently. A lot of bigger shows provide multiple water stations. However, they are located far from the stages so it's important to bring hydration packs or a refillable water bottle.
4. Understand the Culture: PLUR
The EDM community is a tight-knit group that is based on sharing the love of music, creating unforgettable experiences and bonding with others. Our creed acronym is called PLUR. Which stands for peace, love, unity and respect. It's important to be mindful of other festival goers and to create a welcoming space for everyone.
