5 Tips: Protecting Your Ears at Loud Venues

Everyone loves the excitement of music festivals and feeling the bass from the speakers. With the rise in popularity of EDM, there are tons of amazing events every single year. If you are someone who attends these shows, we've got some tips to help protect those precious ears of yours.

1. Keep your distance from the speakers

Most of the time, the venue will have one set of speakers near the stage. Staying further away can potentially bring the noise to an acceptable level.

2. Attend outdoor events and festivals

Having the flexibility to move around to areas with comfortable noise levels is a plus

3. Give your ears a break between sets/performances.

Studies have shown that consistent exposure to high noise levels can be harmful to your ears.

4. Attend shorter events

Don't worry. If you enjoy longer events, see tip #5.

5. Get a pair of high fidelity earplugs.

A good pair of earplugs will not muffle the sound, and actually give you a better listening experience. The right earplugs can help prevent the ringing in your ears and give you the flexibility of being closer to the stage.
