Our List of Women That Are Making Waves in Dance Music

Supporting female artists in the EDM community is so important. In a male-dominated space, it is more of a challenge for women to make a name for themselves. Here is our list of women who are challenging the status quo and making strides in dance music. Check them out next time they come on tour in your city or are on the lineup at your next festival.

Alison Wonderland

This Australian queen strives to be open and honest with her followers on the importance of mental health. She has cultivated a theme of her sets being like going to spiritual church where you can come as you are and release anything that’s holding you back. 

Anna Lunoe

Anna Lunoe is a total badass. She played multiple festivals in 2017 pregnant which is extremely admirable. Now in 2019, she manages to juggle being a mom while still producing and playing festivals all across the world. Catch one of her sets for an upbeat house set.

Charlotte de Witte

One of the many queens of techno, Charlotte de Witte, blew up in the past year. She’s played mainstage at Tomorrowland, Coachella, EDC and many festivals around the world. Her dark techno vibes keep the people coming back for more.

Clozee

Coming from France, Clozee, takes her fans on a musical journey with her music. Her music and sets have a tribal electronic sound to them. She is truly captivating to see live I highly recommend seeing her the next time you can.

Hannah Wants

One of my favorite sets of Electric Forest 2019, Hannah Wants surprised me in the best way. She gives incredible energy to her sets that will have you shuffling the whole time. She is also a breast cancer survivor which shows how incredibly strong she is as a person to recover from that and still pursue her career in music.

Nicole Moudaber

Another queen of techno, if not THE queen of techno, Nicole Moudaber captivates her fans with her deep dark techno mood. She’s been playing since the 90s and caught her first break by signing with Carl Cox’s label in 2009. She’s played major festivals around the world and is showing no signs of stopping.

Nora en Pure

When you see Nora en Pure live, you’re taken on a magical deep house journey. It feels euphoric and melts any worries away. She is one to watch any chance you can so you can just dance and let it all go.

Rezz

Finally to round out this list is Rezz. She has made huge strides in EDM by challenging what music has to sound like to be successful. She’s created a huge following with her Cult of Rezz that celebrates being different. From her goggles, to her visuals, it all flows so well with the music that’ll truly hypnotize you and put you in a trance.
